JFK Terrorist Update

Now think about this a minute: Could overthrow of the government of Trinidad and Tobago have anything to do with their policy in the mideast? Not likely. So. It’s not about the plight of the Palestinians, or Arab pride, or any of the conventional excuses for terrorism. It’s all about a dangerous ideology that wants to enslave the world.

trinid-w1.gifThe Los Angeles times gives more background on the plot this morning, and I applaud that they are covering it in detail and not blowing it off as something that would have never worked, etc. as some news outlets are.

The Cold War is Over

George Bush got something right yesterday and deserves kudos for it. Missile defense is key to the future safety of all the world. The nuclear djinn is out of the bottle, and it will never be put back again.

bush2007.jpgGeorge Bush got something right yesterday and deserves kudos for it. Missile defense is key to the future safety of all the world. The nuclear djinn is out of the bottle, and it will never be put back again.  This from his speech yesterday:

Washington, DC. President George W. Bush stood strong and called out President Putin today on Missile Defense before leaving to Germany where they are going to meet at the Group of 8 Leading Industrial Nations summit meetings, next week.

“The Cold War is over,” President Bush stated. “We’re now into the 21st century, where we need to deal with the true threats, which are threats of radical extremists who will kill to advance an ideology, and the threats of proliferation,” he further commented. “I’m deeply concerned about Iran having a nuclear weapon that could fly toward Europe, or, for that matter, toward any other allies,” Bush said. “And we don’t want to ever have ourselves in a position where the world could become blackmailed. And, therefore, one way to deal with this issue is through a missile defense system.” The President closed his comments by saying of the third missile defense site in Europe, “We think it’s the right thing to do.”

In Pakistan there is already one Christian sentenced to death after a brownshirt neighbor turned him in for making comments derogatory to the prophet. The Christian sentenced to death won’t be the last as the religious extremists like Maulana Ghazi from Lal Masjid/Jamia Hafsa and others in Pakistan search for scapegoats and victims.

In Pakistan one Christian has been sentenced to death after a brownshirt neighbor turned him in for making comments derogatory to the prophet during an argument. The Christian sentenced to death won’t be the last as the religious extremists like Maulana Ghazi from Lal Masjid/Jamia Hafsa and others in Pakistan search for scapegoats and victims.

The authorities in Islamabad have closed a nurses hostel due to “disrespect to the holy Quran” and put five Christians on suspension while they investigate.

The charge?  Two nursing students with connections to Jamia Hafsa reported that a Koranic verse on a water cooler was defaced.

Pakistan Update

To show what’s going on at the front, from 2001 to present, the total US deaths in Afghanistan is 325, with only 208 being from hostile actions from the Taliban and Al Qaeda. The civilian deaths created by the Taliban and Al Qaeda in the same time frame are ten times that. The Taliban and Al Qaeda deaths are in the thousands every year they fight, last year they were greater than 3,000. AQ and the Taliban are out of competent leaders and for followers they now kidnap children. That’s pathetic.

iftikhar-demonstration.jpgThe demonstrations continue for Chief Justice Iftikhar while the trial goes on. The army has taken umbrage at the criticism by lawyers, and there’s some back and forth on that for the political situation. Current consensus is that if Musharaaf makes it past June that he will survive. Meanwhile Baitullah Mehsud continues his assassination campaign in the frontiers, attacking followers of Sherpao, and the on and off attacks by the Taliban against the Frontier Constabulary continues in Tank.

Immigration and Graduation

While we are debating immigration should we step back a moment and think about what the policy should be in 20 years if one of these Palestinian Kindergarten Graduates decides he wants to come to america?

The Tale of an Iraqi Hero

Musahem Al Jabouri, a police officer only four months on the job thwarted the attack of an Al Qaeda truck bomber, intent on breaking terrorists out of a jail. He ran out from the compound as the truck approach and shot the driver but died in the explosion. His brother received an award commemorating his valor from the US Forces, as Iraq does not have medals yet. Video from CNN below, but first this quote from Al Jabouri’s surviving brother, Bassim Al Jabouri:

I think my brother is a martyr, but the insurgents are not martyrs. They will go to hell. They are evil in this world.

This is so true — Al Qaeda and the Taliban have murdered more muslims than the American forces, and they continually destroy lives, mutilate men, women, and children, and try by every means to crush the future and the dreams of the Iraqi people.

WTG Marcia Cooke! (That’s Marcia in the Middle of this photo taken at a Broward County Federal Bar Association luncheon meeting,) The defense has also tried to have the word “terrorist” and “terrorism” banned, along with Osama Bin Laden, and other terrorist names. AP has filed a motion for release of the tapes once they are admitted as evidence, so expect some interesting recordings soon.

Taliban Target Schools

The Taliban cannot stand against soldiers or real men, so instead they attack women and schoolgirls. They burn the schools, they throw acid in the faces of girls walking to school, and they kill teachers.

I almost did a story on this last night when I read the new article in the Pakistan Daily Times but to me it’s old news. This has been going on a long time.

The Taliban cannot stand against soldiers or real men, so instead they attack women and schoolgirls. They burn the schools, they throw acid in the faces of girls walking to school, and they kill teachers. With the Taliban it’s always the women and children who suffer most.
