Indian Police Interrogate Hyderabad Bomber Suspect

Indian authorities are interrogating a suspected Hyderabad bomber, Rizvan Gazi of Bangladesh. Story at Gulf News:

Gazi, 22, who resembled the sketch of the suspected bomb planter at Lumbini Park, was reportedly arrested by a Hyderabad police team in Bangalore late on Wednesday and is likely to be brought here soon.

The suspect, whose sister Shareefa Rafsanjani was nabbed here on Sunday, had narrowly escaped arrest on two occasions during the last four days. The two had been staying illegally in the city for six years now.

Investigators believe Gazi’s interrogation could help in cracking the August 25 blasts, the worst-ever terror attack in Andhra Pradesh, and also the May 18 blast at the historic Makkah Masjid, which had claimed nine lives.

Gazi, who was staying in a rented house in Kishanbagh in the old city, had reportedly made phone calls to Pakistan a day before the blasts and to Bangladesh afterwards.The investigations also revealed that calls were made to Bangladesh from mobile phones after the blasts from near Lumbini Park and Gokul Chat, the scenes of the blasts.

Gazi might be the man who made phone calls after planting the bomb at the park. Police sources said if this was established, his interrogation may also help the police identify the other bomb planter.

The Lead up to 9/11/07 : Bin Laden Dead or Alive?

Bin Laden has long been silent, dead, captured, incommunicado, or uncaring — regardless of which it is he is not effectively leading, so it will be of interest if confirmed new tape instead of retread old stock does arrive. Al Sahab, Al Qaeda’s media branch, has become pretty sophisticated at video manipulation, including blue-screen like effects of substituted false backgrounds in some of their newer tapes.

3 Terrorists Arrested in Germany

Three terrorists who trained in Pakistan with the Islamic Jihad Union (IJU,) a group affiliated to Al Qaeda, were arrested in Germany today. They had 1,500 of hydrogen peroxide, and had been monitored observing Ramstein air force base. The components combined with the right ingredients would have produced an explosion equivalent to 1,200 tons of TNT.

The Long War Journal

Bill Roggio has redesigned and redefined reporting on the long war we are in against terrorism. Right now it’s defined by the fronts we find our troops on, in Afghanistan and Iraq, however it’s truly worldwide and it’s being fought on many levels.

Here’s a sample of the Afghanistan section, please stop by and take a read, significant headway has been made this week with leaders captured, Taliban heroin labs closed, and many Taliban sent to graves.

The major levels the war is fought on are political, financial, cultural, and kinetic. The first three of these fronts cross into our lives daily — with efforts on the web by Islamist agit-propaganda groups being fought by journalists who portray truth and who present facts.

The political front is fought by Islamist political groups like the hundreds of thousands of Hizb-ut-Tahrir followers who met in London and Indonesia last week. The financial is represented by the pirates stopped off the horn of Africa by our Navy, and the trial of false charities that funnel money to terrorist groups, like the Holy Land Foundation trial underway, as well as the Taliban Heroin labs shut down by our troops in Afghanistan.

The front where we are best under control is the kinetic — our troops have fought finer than any military organization in all of history and they have accomplished more in shorter time frame than all others. They can’t win permanently if we lose the other fronts, so it’s important to step up our efforts across the board on those fronts — our military deserves that support.

Pakistan Knuckles Under to Baitullah Taliban Demands

The Pakistan government release 100 tribesmen and reopened the road to Wana today, acceding to Baitullah Mehsud’s demands while he holds 200 or more Pakistani soldiers hostage. From Daily Times:

The government on Monday freed more than a 100 arrested tribesmen and opened the main highway to meet some of the demands made by the Taliban for the release of around 200 kidnapped soldiers in South Waziristan, but the soldiers have not yet been freed, officials said.

In Mohmand Agency, a government deadline for the release of 10 paramilitary soldiers held hostage by the militants passed without any significant response from the captors and a tribal jirga was still negotiating their safe return, Mohmand Agency Chief Administrator Dr Kazim Niaz told a news briefing in Ghalanai.

“We have no details whether the jirga has persuaded the Taliban militants to release the soldiers or not,” a senior government official in Wana told Daily Times asking not to be named.

YouTube Hosts Video That Calls for Killing Jews

Warning: it will offend you with the usual neo-nazi, anti-zionist, anti-jew cliches, including another video titled “hitler was right”.

While embedding the video in the post below, I came across a related video from Youtube’s new menu, and since it appeared to be from the real Freedom’s Watch I clicked on it.

Instead I got an anti-war video that has chanting in the background saying : “Kill the Jew, Kill the Jew, Kill the Jew.” I will not embed it here.
