Starving Wolves

Matt Dupee at Afgha.com has an excellent article on the dissolution of Hezb-i-Islami, Gulbuddin Hekmatyar’s terrorist group. Well worth the read in that it is more fuel to the theory that the Jihad is running out of gas.

Other examples of desperation besides the infighting of Hezb-i-Islami:

  • Taliban and AQ paying triple and quadruple the going rate for mercenaries, and not finding enough.
  • Kidnapping of Students to use as Jihadi’s
  • Opening new fronts (India, Turkey most recently) in vain hope to gain recruits
  • The summer offensive that still hasn’t materialized
  • Fighting between factions across the Islamic extremist fronts
  • Multiple “leaders” each trying to recruit
  • Multiple assassinations and infiltrations between groups

About a third think there will be elections as normal, a third do not, and another third either can’t decide or think that there will be elections but not under Musharaaf.

The mad fourth-tier “leadership” of Al Qaeda is trying a new tactic since none but the mentally deficient will follow them now. They have declared holy war against India because Pakistanis have become wiser about their false jihads.

Afghan Repatriation Continues

The move to repatriate the 2 million refugees Afghani refugees who have lived in camps in Pakistan is nearing agreement by both countries. The refugee camps do need to be cleared as they are somewhat lawless, and a continual source of Taliban recruits in the Frontier Provinces of Pakistan.

Solar Power Satellite Renaissance

Solar Power Satellites would not only encourage space colonization, but also create a source of clean, un-ending energy for the burgeoning population of planet earth.

sps.jpgIn his book, “The High Frontier“, Professor Gerard K. O’Neill recognized that there would need to be commercial reasons to build the first Space Colonies. The inspirational work posited that we need to live in space as well as on earth, after all why have all your eggs in one basket? 

To futher the possibility of SPS, he expanded the early work of Arthur C. Clarke, and detailed how Solar Power Satellites would not only encourage space colonization, but also create a source of clean, un-ending energy for the burgeoning population of planet earth.

Kelsey Smith Murder Suspect Arrested

In Kansas it’s 3:18 am, and the story has come across the wire. Earlier I wrote a poem about justice, and this is Kansas where Justice means prosecuter Phil Kline, who says charges will be filed Thursday morning against Olathe resident Edwin R. Hall.

kelseysmithsuspect01.jpgIn Kansas it’s 3:18 am — I couldn’t sleep well because Kelsey’s abduction, murder, and callous disposal in a lake has disturbed me greatly. My daugher shops at the same store Kelsey was taken from. Thousands have searched for her, only to have all hopes shattered after the corpse was found at Longview Lake.

Earlier I wrote a poem about Justice, and this is Kansas where Justice means prosecuter Phil Kline, who just announced that charges will be filed Thursday morning against Olathe resident Edwin R. Hall. I urge him to seek the death penalty if this man is guilty of the crime.

Wind and Sun

searching for a child loved by many;

The many searched but all was vain,

Some shudder now with her loss,

hearts gripped with ice and pain.

So parents smile at your children;

hug them tight again.

Life’s a treasure while you hold it

so value what you touch.

Remember those whose breath was taken,

ensure them justice not forsaken.
