The American Al Qaeda Speaks

gadahn.jpgIf you think we aren’t at war, or if you think Iraq and Afghanistan are the only fronts, Adam Gadahn is here to tell you otherwise. Please stop by Little Green Footballs to view the American Al Qaeda’s latest demands. Please pay close attention as he parrots many of the left’s bumper-sticker hits against the war, our commander in chief, and the troops.

Veteran’s Graves Desecrated on Memorial Day

washington-veteran-grave.jpgflags-burnt.jpgAt Orcas Island in Washington they prefer to dishonor our veterans and troops on Memorial day. It’s all about the timing, and it seems that the Washington moonbats have one-upped the Oregonians. The evil of the left and their hate for our country knows zero bounds, as both of these horrendous acts demonstrate. I know they feel bad that the adults realized a hasty exit from Iraq would be worse than hastily entering the war, but this goes beyond the pail.

UPDATE: There’s full local reportage at the SanJuanIslander., and there are letters to the editor about the outrage, curiously I found this section in one of them:

We will be following the news and will not support any individual, business or organization involved in this horrible incident during our future visits. This may not seem like a big financial impact, but if others did the same thing, I’m sure the consequences would be felt and a strong message be sent.

Additionally, it would go a long way toward healing the wounds that have just been inflicted by the vandalism, if this year for the Orcas July 4th festivities and Founders Day Parade, instead of the dominate pink theme we’ve seen the last several years, locals made a strong showing of the red, white and blue and some good old fashioned patriotic support and honoring of veterans and soldiers currently serving.

Is the town council overun with code pinkers? Orcas Island gained notoriety worldwide, but is this the notoriety they want?

AP story below the fold.

Karo Kari in Larkana

karo-kari-mirjat.jpgIn Pakistan Karo Kari, or Honor Killing is still practiced, and although illegal it sometimes goes unpunished. Various scholars have declared it “un-Islamic”, however others, especially tribal elders, still consider it mandatory when a family’s honor is besmirched.

The story below is a sad one, a poor family whose son has somehow created dishonor for someone [who and how has never been clear in any of the reports on this, it could be that he dishonored someone’s daughter, or that he honor-killed someone’s relative – it’s unclear.] now has been ordered to give up their young daughters because they do not have the money for the fine. So one woman was dishonored or killed, now two girl children will also suffer.

Update: Gateway Pundit now carrying story as well.

Memorial Day Kansas

Yesterday I took a trip to the Korean War Memorial. Sometimes the Korean war is called the “Forgotten War” because people do not talk about it much. There were brave souls from Kansas who fought across the rocky hills and mountains of Korea, and today is a day to remember them.

This will be a pictorial essay because when it comes to honoring the heros who fought off a brutal communist regime and who freed the people of South Korea, words fail to be enough. Continue reading

41 Iraqi’s Freed From Al Qaeda Torture Camp

al-qaida-schism.jpgUS forces freed 41 Iraqi’s from Al Qaeda’s grip today, many who showed signs of torture including broken bones.

From AP:

WASHINGTON (AP) –  US Forces rescued 41 Iraqi civilians Sunday from an al-Qaida hide- out northeast of Baghdad,  including some who showed signs of torture and broken bones, a senior U.S. official said.
Maj. Gen. William Caldwell, the top U.S. military spokesman in Baghdad, said it was the largest number of detained Iraqis ever found in a single al-Qaida hide-out. Some among the 41 had been held as long as four months, he said. Details were incomplete, but Caldwell said some of the freed Iraqis were being transported to medical facilities for treatment of their injuries. There were no indications that Americans had been held at the hide-out, he said. It was not immediately clear whether any al- Qaida figures were captured.

torture002.jpgAl Qaida’s torture manuals have been exposed elsewhere, at Little Green Footballs, The Smoking Gun,

I have an open question for the leaders of Islamic countries everywhere: How can you allow Al Qaida to continue with this? They are responsible for the deaths, torture, and displacement of tens of thousands of Muslims across the world, and these aren’t Americans in the pictures of their torture manuals. Is Bin Laden the Lion of Allah, or the barking dog of devils who howl for the ummah’s doom in a sick hunt for power in the Islamic world?

I have an open question to those calling to defund the war and to the editors of the New York Times: Do you have the slightest clue what evil is?

Blogger Sued for Reporting on Terrorism

atlas_shrugged.jpgAtlas has a story up about Bill Warner being sued for reporting on potential links to terrorism, from Atlas:

If the Muslims get away with this “test case”, it will shut us all down. The intrepid blogger and PI (and valued Atlas source) has been sued for publishing stories about Muslims with ties to Islamic terror. News stories already published in the mainstream media. Warner obviously hit a nerve. This is the next nefarious step in the litigation jihad. Warner must prevail. This has all the CAIR tactics written all over it.

The opponents of truth will fail in the end, I have faith in our country and our courts; but this is a slapp-suit. By forcing people into court and steep lawyer bills they hope to stifle bloggers. That’s just not going to happen.

Just at initial glance the suit appears to be overbroad and specifically designed to infringe Bill Warner’s freedom of speech.

Travel Warning for Pakistan

From the Daily Times:

LAHORE: The United States Embassy has warned its citizens to defer travel to Pakistan because of recent information indicating terrorists may be plotting attacks on Western interest in the country.

“Recent information indicates that terrorists may be planning to conduct attacks against Western interests in Pakistan. These interests may include NGOs and companies. No further information is available regarding the exact timing, location, or specific targets of these attacks. US citizens should defer travel, and are reminded to examine their personal security practices,” says a warden notice issued by the US Embassy in Islamabad.

“The embassy would like to remind the American citizen community of the need to stay alert, to reduce travel to minimum acceptable levels, and to act self-defensively at all times. American citizens should avoid areas where Westerners are known to congregate, vary their routes and times, and maintain a low profile. We remind American citizens that protests and demonstrations may occur throughout Pakistan without prior notice and to avoid all demonstrations and protests.”

Update: This is not intel received from Pakistan spurring the notice, it’s intel developed by US resources our state department passed it to Pakistani authorities as this article in the Frontier Post details.
