There Will Come Soft Rains

.
.
There will come soft rains and the smell of the ground,
And swallows circling with their shimmering sound;
And frogs in the pools singing at night,
And wild plum trees in tremulous white;
Robins will wear their feathery fire,
Whistling their whims on a low fence-wire;
And not one will know of the war, not one
Will care at last when it [...]

Pakistan Update

Lal Masjid is issuing threats after Musharraf’s speech (see yesterday’s update,) and it appears that yet another kidnapping was foiled by police. The self-appointed “Ummahzons” are still rattling their canes, but ineffectively. Previous articles on the crow-hatchery here.

Tiger Tiger

The Tiger
.
 .
Tiger! Tiger! burning bright
In the forests of the night,
What immortal hand or eye
Could frame thy fearful symmetry?
In what distant deeps or skies
Burnt the fire of thine eyes?
On what wings dare he aspire?
What the hand dare seize the fire?
And what shoulder, and what art,

UK Car Bomb Foiled

MPACUK, KOS, and the MSM seem to be downplaying it with the usual litany of “don’t worry be happy” salvos – it wouldn’t have worked, it’s a marketing scheme, it’s a CIA plot against Brown, the IDF did it, etc. Getting tired of the loons unable to cope with reality because the facts aren’t convenient for their political world-view

Taliban Release Deminers

Space War Power

Taylor Dinerman has an article that’s recommended reading here.
