American Thinker Blog Domain Problem

 UPDATE:

American Thinker recovered it’s domain name through some heroic efforts (and trust me this is not easy, I’ve been through this drill myself a couple of times…)

Andrew Thomas Lifson explains here:

Yesterday American Thinker suffered a temporary loss of control of our internet domain, http://www.americanthinker.com/. As a result, readers were unable to reach us, and we were unable to post new content to the site. The disruption lasted close to 24 hours, but has now been ended. Readers around the world will be able to find us as the change is propagated through the world’s network of servers.
We were victims of a company operating under the name registerfly.com which took our money to register the domain for two years, but only paid for one year. When the anniversary of our domain registration came, the domain was removed from our control, even though we had paid in advance for it.  Registerfly.com does not respond to emails or phone calls, and appears to have no money left. Draw your own conclusions about the type of people who might be attracted to a business where they can get away with this sort of activity for awhile.

I’m not sure what’s going on at American Thinker, but apparently there’s a mistake over the Domain, or some outright hijacking. If you go there you will hit an “all ad site”. Earlier someone was able to get through and saw this post, I have only a partial quote from a post by Andrew Thomas Lifson I assume:

American Thinker Blog

April 24, 2007
Some readers have had or will have difficulty reaching our website over the next few days. Our control over our domain has been affected by the error of another company. We are working to fully resolve the problem. Please bear…

Unfortunately I don’t have the rest of it. What I do recommend is patience, American Thinker is one of the best political analysis blogs on the block, and I’m certain it will be back once things get sorted out.

[Editor: Don't know where I got Andrew from... I've even corresponded with Thomas and contributed at AT before... grrr. Apologies to Thomas, and my readers.]
