A note I missed yesterday, American forces in Baghdad freed a captured Voice of America reporter:
WASHINGTON, July 16, 2006 – U.S. soldiers freed a kidnapped Voice of America journalist and captured four suspected terrorists in two separate operations in Baghdad July 14, officials in Iraq reported.

Right now the heat and pressure is on. Israel’s citizens are under attack by indiscriminate terrorists launching missles into their country and they have to defend themselves, that’s job number one for any government. Lebanon is hosting murderous thugs, and doing nothing to control Hizbullah with their army of 70,000 soldiers, so their feelings on the matter … just don’t matter.

The Space Shuttle took the first window of opportunity and fired a burn to de-orbit about fifty minutes ago. STS-121 is on a re-entry path to Florida and Kennedy Space Center atd the Cape, and should touch down about 8:16 CDT. Update: Shuttle lands safely.
