American Thinker has an interesting article that Details potential Hugo Chavez involvement in the Illegal Immigrant Mayday March. (Official abbreviation IIMM, coined here first !!! )
MM has the usual smorgasboard of photos, good links, and tracking for the rally, and Hotair has her interview with Sean Hannity and a Mecha Reconquista. If you are loathe to follow links today and had to choose just one from the site, read Tancredo’s piece. Update: Michelle has put together a good “best of” photo selection showing the reconquista element clearly there at the forefront.
My original articles on the the run up to the marches are here, Here, and Here. The marches went much as I expected, the MSM response was mundane product as only sheep armed with creative typing degrees can produce. The only remaining thoughts are these:
- I think the communists who put this together got what they wanted, even though they screwed the actual illegal immigrant cause for all intents and purposes. They got dissension, America looking bad, and a huge recruiting drive. The illegals got the shaft without any vaseline.
- If Mexico’s going to butt in and boycott American companies for a day, then I say “No Mas Mexicali por la Mes!” (It’s been 20+ years since high school spanish class, apologies to hispanics if I screwed up the syntax or words there, but you get the idea.)
I stopped by VOLPAC, Bill Frist’s election PAC and left a comment under the $100 gas rebate topic here. Please stop by and leave your thoughts on how you feel about bribes to voters from tax dollars. PLEASE take a few minutes to write your congrescritter this week — the sooner we get to energy independence, the better. All of the crisis’ we face now become a heck of a lot less urgent if we have cheap, clean, and plentiful energy produced here at home.
We are six months and change out from mid-terms, so I”ve added a new tag “elections” and request that all conservative bloggers do so as well, & flag things that can impact elections, articles about election tracking etc. with it. That way it will be easier to hunt friend and foe.
It’s also important that you give your local candidates who are true to cause some national limelight, and point out the foibles and follies of their foes. You know your regional issues better than the Mega-bloggers, you know your candidates better, you know your local periodicals and info sources better. Please surface the important stuff, we can’t focus on just national, war, and immigration and expect to win this November.
