Why Darwin Matters: Evolution, Intelligent Design and the Battle for Science and Religion

Michael Shermer on why Darwin matters in this lecture at the Division of Biological Sciences and the Helen Edison Lecture Series at the University of California, San Diego.

UPDATE: It’s really a disservice to put up such a great lecture without also pointing you to the book Michael is talking about, so apologies for not doing this originally. Michael Shermer : Why Darwin Matters

  1. What’s your most important goal?
Is it to kick the snot out of those stupid christians?
Or, is it to kick The Obamessiah out of the White House?
You pick, you can’t do both. You need those stupid christians if you want The Obamessiah out of the White House. So, you pick.
After you restore constitutional government by sending The Obamessiah back to Chicago, you will have plenty of time to kick those stupid christians’ fundaments back to Arkansas or where ever you think they come from. But, if you don’t send the Obamessiah back to Chicago in 2012, you’ll probably need a second job to pay your taxes so you won’t have time to kick their fundaments.

What’s most important to you? Constitutional government and wealth beyond the dreams of avarice or kicking christian fundament and poverty. You pick. But you’ll only get one choice. If the Obamessiah is POTUS, four more years will add $6,000,000,000,000 to the national debt. Think you can survive that?

  2. My goal is to further science, knowledge and liberty. Your false either/or assumption is patently false. I can campaign against Obama and support science. Many christians can support evolution, and believe in god, so what’s your problem? What’s your goal? Why do you get upset over this factual stuff?

  3. But they have found the missing link and it is the messiah Obama, now let
    us pray…for only four years….
