Megahed Granted Bail, Government Appeals

One of the USF Muslim students arrested in South Carolina on explosives charges has been granted bail and the government is appealing. CAIR (The Council of American Islamic Relations, Unindicted co-conspirators in the Holy Land Foundation Terror Funding trial,) is effectively saying Mohamed was bad, but Megahed is a nice boy with a clean record, he just happened to be in the car….

Doug Ross has more details on the bomb that was found and the evidence in the case here.

Ahmed Bedier, director of the Central Florida office of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, was quick to distinguish between Megahed and Mohamed…

He defended Megahed, saying it appeared he “just happened to be in the car.” But he had harsher words for Mohamed… If he could talk to Mohamed, Bedier said, “I’d say, ‘Wake up!’ ”

He added, “Muslims don’t get a second chance when they dabble with things like this. Not only will this have consequences on him, but it will have consequences on most of the Muslims in this country.”

[Editor note: I normally don’t label these terror related arrests with the word Muslim — I use terms such as Islamist extremists, terrorists, or name the associated terror group. However when CAIR steps into the middle of investigation of a potential terror incident and labels it a Muslim issue, then so do I.]
