Three terrorists who trained in Pakistan with the Islamic Jihad Union (IJU,) a group affiliated to Al Qaeda, were arrested in Germany today. They had 1,500 of hydrogen peroxide, and had been monitored observing Ramstein air force base. The components combined with the right ingredients would have produced an explosion equivalent to 1,200 tons of TNT. Ramstein is the US military base that most of our troops transit enroute to Iraq and Afghanistan, and the anniversary of 9/11 is coming up.
With two probably coordinated attacks foiled in the past two days, perhaps there are others and everyone needs to be wary leading up to the anniversary. Al Qaeda’s signature is to strike in multiple coordinated waves. All countries should be working to uncover like efforts.
Three suspected Islamic militants were arrested for allegedly plotting “imminent” and “massive” attacks on the Ramstein Air Base, a major U.S. and NATO military hub, and Frankfurt’s busy international airport, German authorities said Wednesday.
German federal prosecutor Monika Harms said the three—two of whom were German converts to Islam—had trained at terror camps in Pakistan and procured some 1,500 pounds of hydrogen peroxide for making explosives. And a top legislator said the group could have struck “in a few days,” noting a “sensitive period” that includes the anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks.
“We were able to succeed in recognizing and preventing the most serious and massive bombings,” Harms told reporters.
Officials said the hydrogen peroxide, stored in a hideout, could have been mixed with other additives to produce a bomb with the explosive power of 1,200 pounds of TNT.

Apparently the three planned to make massive bomb attacks, targets unknown. There were forty other raids carried out, expect more news later,
From the German Federal Prosecutor Monica Harms:
Ms Harms said the men planned to use vehicles loaded with the explosives to kill or injure large numbers of people.
The arrests had prevented “massive bomb attacks”, she added.
Joerg Ziercke, the head of Germany’s federal crime office said this:
Joerg Ziercke, the head of Germany’s federal crime office, said the men had a “profound hatred of US citizens”.
They had been under surveillance for six months, but the authorities decided to act when it became clear the men were planning to move their huge stores of hydrogen peroxide.
They were arrested on Tuesday afternoon in a raid on an apartment in North Rhine-Westphalia.
Another 40 raids were also carried out on properties across the country.
